In Christ Alone

In Christ Alone
Words & Music by
Keith Getty & Stuart Townend

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt of life, no fear of death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

What a wonderful lyrics describing the Beautiful Saviour & friend Jesus.

Almost all religion in this world teaches us to be good, to do good, and you will be promised to go heaven. Actually without religion. May I dare anyone of you to go up to the streets of orchard road, ask anyone there this question. "How does one get to heaven?" I can tell you 10 out of 10 people wil have almost similiar answer. (Ans: Do good & be a good person, and see how your luck is, maybe god will allow you in heaven.)

Have anyone one of you ask yourself, why Christianity is so weird? All religion tells us to do this and do that. Be it walk 3 steps & knee down, every 5th day of the week pray, or peircing your body with long thick needles etc. to sort of like gain acceptance from god & forgiveness of your sins (wrong doings). It's all about us doing something. I am not trying to insult or mean anything. On the other hand I really do respect these people's devotion. I am sometime amazed.
But for Christianity it always talks about Jesus Himself being nailed to the cross.
(By the way, as christian we don't consider christianity as a reigion. To us it is about a relation with our Father God. The God who created us.)

Yes, in the bible we does have our rules telling us what to do & what ought not to do. But we advocate that simply by doing good, is not sufficient to get us to heaven. It was the sacrifice of Jesus that made everything possible for us to get to heaven. And we just have to simply believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins.

Find it hard to believe? Even I myself at times can't accept this simple logic, but i believe.
I guess living in a society that always talks about "Merits". As in you must do this before you can be rewarded with that. Eg: You need to have a degree before you can have a good job. It's about doing something to gain something.

All in all it is true, Jesus went through all the suffering & was being nailed to the cross, because He loves you too much not to see you in heaven. Yet being God Himself, death did not conquer Him. But He rose again, to tell the world that He is alive and loving us.

Would you accept the love that Jesus is offering you?
