Slumdog Millionaire

Actually I should have written this post 2 days ago, but I wasn't in the mood back than and I was tired. I guess Father must have held me back until now.
As recommended by Dennis Jernigan, I manage to catch the movie Slumdog Millionaire. It was fantastic movie and very touching.
After OT from work, while travelling back on the bus, my mind began to reflect on a particular scene of the movie which I will not say for now.

"Slumdog Millionaire" is the story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"
But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika, the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show's questions.
Intrigued by Jamal's story, the jaded Police Inspector begins to wonder what a young man with no apparent desire for riches is really doing on this game show?
When the new day dawns and Jamal returns to answer the final question, the Inspector and sixty million viewers are about to find out...

Well the above is the synopsis, given by the official site. They miss out on the important details. Jamal & his brother Salim were living in slums when they were kids, and they happen to meet this little girl called Latika. They were soon being captured by the local gangs who trick & force kids into slave beggars. Both Jamal & Salim escape, leaving Latika behind. Years had past and Jamal never forgets Latika. Jamal & Salim begs & works hard over the years and slow earn their way back to Mumbai. Jamal did it in search of Latika.

During their pre-teens period they bump into each other, but was separated due to the cause of his brother Salim. When Jamal was 18 years of age he manage to locate Latika again, this time she is in the hands of the local gangster. They decided to elope but Latika was soon recaptured. As a punishment, they put a scar on her left face.

Not knowing where the gangster had taken her, Jamal decided to go on the show India's "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?". On one occurrence Latika had mentioned to Jamal that this is the only show that can change one's lives in India. That's why Jamal fought hard to be on the program, knowing that Laika will be sure to watch it. Jamal was fortunate, every questions asked during the show addresses to many moments of his life. After reaching $10 million rupees, he was captured & tortured by the local police on suspicion of cheating. He endured through the torture, and granted to be back at the show to answer the final question which will lead him to $20 million rupees.

With the help of Salim, Latika manage to escape from the crutch of the local gangsters. She took notice of the show. Jamal couldn't answer the last question, he used the last life line which is to call a friend. Of course it was Latika that picks up the call. Their love erupted once again. After striking the final question. With $20 million rupees on hand, Jamal went forth once again to search for Latiak. Fate causes them to meet again.

In summary, all these while Latika was always in the thoughts of Jamal. Jamal fought hard & went through great length to search & re-unites with Latika.
Towards the end of the Movie, when Jamal & Latika finally met, they felt that instant love for each other. Salim held Latika's face up high and with passionate love he kissed her left scared face.

This was the scene that held my thought as I was travelling back home. I finally understood how Dennis Jernigan was being inspire to write this song "True Love's Kiss".

Indeed the passionate love of Jesus for us, caused Him to go through great length to the extend to be bitten & suffered at the cross. All this was done, just for us to return to the love of the Father. For all have sinned, no one returns to the Father perfect. Yet Father never despise us, in fact on the very deep scars of sin & hurt, He choose to lift our heads high & place a passionate kiss there.
